Stupid Publisher Comment

The new TV Guide has a brief blurb (they don’t do anything else) about how the cover of Catwoman #51 features the numbers from Lost. Dan DiDio is quoted as saying “we keep trying to put Easter eggs on our covers regardless of whether it has anything to do with our characters.” What an idiotic statement! It makes DC sound like they don’t care what their comics look like so long as there’s an in-joke included.

I suppose it doesn’t bother me much. The whole point of “Easter Eggs” are that they’re hidden and not incredibly obvious but amusing/fun when you notice them. Thus, at least for me, they don’t tend to ruin the enjoyability of the comic covers. Most of the time, I never notice them at all. Other times I do and enjoy them. *shrug*
