I’m actually glad Tokyopop stopped with Kindaichi
To be honest, their adaptation just sucked, no matter the covers or the names of the cases they made up
I’ll rather read the fansubs instead, at least they know a lot better than to ruin the magic of the original Japanese version

I absolutely LOVE Kindaichi, and have been reading these for years now. I have the first three and another one that isn’t listed on here but they were from Japan… unfortunately, I can’t get access to the rest, so I can only buy what is sold on Amazon, Ebay, etc here in the United States. I bought six just today through Amazon and I can’t wait to read them and start reading something new though re-reading the case files I already have is still refreshing at times! If anyone knows where to get the rest, let me know!

It’s unfortunate that with Tokyopop’s struggles over the past few years, many of the their best titles have gone out of print. At least in this case, the books are stand-alone, so you can skip one or two without too much trouble. Still, it’s frustrating when you like it and want to read more.

So I started this series and I love it. I had been watching Detective Conan and enjoying it but (unfortuately) this series is way better. But I’m too late, tracking down a few of these volumes (vol. 9 The Headless Samurai especially) is proving to be quite difficult. This is a situation where I wish I could buy the manga (officially) online. I haven’t had this much trouble finding a manga volume since Basara!

I want to start this series, but it’s sad that it’s on hiatus until sales in the U.S. picks up. Which…I’m betting they won’t, at least not for this series.

I love this series so much, I really hope Tokyopop continues it. It’s so hard to get your hands on this series, it took me forever to find one of the movies. I was so lucky it had english subs.
