Today’s Comic Store Story

The comic store I shop at is a couple of doors down from an exotic pet store. A few weeks ago, when the pet store staff noticed the comic shop throwing away dozens of Diamond boxes every Wednesday, they asked if they could take them. The comic shop owner said “sure”.
Today, the comic shop owner asked the pet store folks if they still wanted the boxes. They said “yeah, they’re really good boxes. The rats can’t gnaw through them as fast.”
So in case you find yourself with a lot of comic boxes you don’t know what to do with… there’s a hint.

you know Johanna…living in NYC, you’d almost wish that were true. We have mutant rats…they could eat through steel!

We just moved our apartment in a few billion Diamond boxes from Star Clipper. The little ones are perfect for small breakables!

Hear hear on Drew’s comment–I moved across town back in September using Diamond boxes. Sure, they’re small, but they’re stronger than anything you can even buy. Truly amazing. Then again, considering they’re full of the surprisingly-heavy paper…
(Even better, when I packed the Diamond boxes full of books they were all easy to carry and I didn’t hurt my back from biting off more than I could chew… er, carry.)

Those plastic storage containers are what I use now, they are rat and weather proof. (no damage after hurricane caused flooding)
Plus they don’t allow in the scary big harry spiders that I used to find way too often when I’d go through the old white boxes.

Glad to see that I’m not the only one who uses the boxes for moving. They’re great!
