Suggestions for Comic Retailers — or how not to tick off your female customers with inaccurate assumptions. “Don’t Point Me Towards Stereotypically ‘Girly’ Crap” is my favorite, having been assumed to be looking for Sandman or Elfquest much too often.
Also important: don’t run stupid, offputting ads that focus on boobies. (Link no longer available.)
thanks Silver Bullet, NEWSarama and all of the other Boy’s Club idiots out there for effectively countering the good work … Because apparently, no matter what good is out there in the industry, simple-minded crap like the above ad - which, BTW, is animated on the site itself, with a little peek-a-boobie action - is what will continue to represent comics to the non-fan.

Oh dear God (esp. re: the FL retailer).
I don’t know if it’s because I’m gay or because I’m simply unobservant, but I have totally missed all of those ads. And I’m glad I’ve missed them, they are truly idiotic. Welcome to 7th grade, Silver Bullet.
Of course, based on my once-and-never-again experience with SB, it’s not just the ads that should be driving people away, but their customer service.

Wow, that FL retailer’s idea just boggles my mind. Waht on Earth were they thinking? Of course we have a new shop in my area called “Lazy Guy Comics” that has some real head scratching ideas (beyond the dumb name) too.
I missed the SB add I guess, the Catwoman one ahs been weird ever since I first saw it in TV Guide.
