Have Some Fun

Sorry about the lack of comment lately … I’ve got to find the time to put together my thoughts on the whole sexual assault/FOL fund thing, and instead of doing so last night, I went out to dinner to say goodbye to a couple of friends who are moving away. (They’re the third couple who’ve moved out of town this year… I think someone’s trying to tell me something.)

My most exciting moment yesterday went like this: I had to wait for an appointment, so I started flipping through the latest Comics Journal only to discover that I was in it! I knew my thoughts on the Best Comics of 2005 would be running sometime, but I didn’t know it was this issue. That was a pleasant surprise. David Welsh has more detailed reporting on that section. I’m not surprised to find out that my choices had nothing in common with the most popular selections.

Also noticed today: Beaucoup Kevin does a weekly comic roundup with the interesting approach of comparing what he says to other comic commentators, and the latest Comics Should Be Good Urban Legend roundup taught me some things. That first story, about Jarvis’ resignation letter in an issue of Iron Man, is one of those too-amazing-to-be-true-but-it-is stories.

Wow your choices are very similar to mine from that blog roundup, still nice to see we have such similiar tastes after all these years.

I haven’t tried Tricked or Capote yet, but I’ll be on the look out for them.
