My new column at Comics Unlimited is now up. Click on the “Graphic Novels Worth Owning” banner to see my comments on the following books.
Little Star, the newest from Andi Watson, looks at fatherhood.
Rivkah’s Steady Beat explores what happens when a girl finds out her older sister might be gay.
Stuck Rubber Baby, by Howard Cruse, falls in the category of “graphic novels everyone should read” — it’s a powerful story of awakening set during the civil rights movement.
Showcase Presents Superman Family is a collection of mostly Jimmy Olsen stories from another era of comics.

Gosh, it seems like forever since I read a new Watson project. This one should be good, even if it is a genre, parenthood, that I don’t expect to ever truly relate to.
I want to read the Lois stories in that Showcase book, but have no interest in Jimmy’s stories. (I just can’t stand his old stories whenver I’ve tried them.) Hopefully I can see it in a book store and flip to the back to read the Lois ones.
