Benson Comics

Benson Comics is one of those sparsely drawn, trying to be weirdly funny but only sometimes succeeding at it, webcomics. So why am I mentioning it?
Because of how the strips are made. It’s a weird enough story that I’m not sure I believe it… but it seems a lot of work to put someone on. The two creators claim, in order to create a webcomic, they alternate drawing panels, mailing strips back and forth from London to Australia until they’re done, scanned, and posted. Low-tech global postage to create something for the internet.

It looks like your first link lacks a dot.

As a friend of the creators of Benson I can confirm that this is how the comics are made, each person taking turns to draw a frame without consulting the other. It started when both were in Australia, but now that Tristram is in London they have still kept it going by posting them to each other.
If you look carefully you may see coded messages of forbidden love.

JD, thanks, I’ve fixed the typo.
Paul, thanks for the confirmation. I’m fascinated by the intersection of old and new technologies.

Another great comic! I’m glad I discovered it one day.
