That&#039;s what I love about the South, we don&#039;t hide our crazies in an attic, we parade &#039;em out on the front porch, for all to see.

The celebration of the South&#039;s more particular elements is at least as old as Faulkner, and is why I love writers like him and Flannery O&#039;Connor, Eudora Welty, Tennessee Williams, and Harper Lee.  The South can be full of charm and grace and wit. It can be a wonderful, wonderful place to live just as much as it can be a close-minded, hateful place to live.</description>
