Heck, when I was there, one week WB started promoting "talk live online with Batman!" without even notifying DC let alone getting their input.

Too bad that there isn't an online system for CCGs like that -- it could be like the old online chats, only more combative. :)

DC and WB animation seem to have long had a synergy problem... wasn't the "Gotham Knights" comic named after a rumored working title for the second Batman series that the comic editor refused to change when the official title turned out to be something different?

Johanna, agreed about the CCG, I'm tempted for the first time in ages... of course, the problem is always finding someone to play against.

And yet the folks at DC have shoehorned Supergirl into the current Legion book and its official title, reportedly over the initial objections of Waid and Kitson, based on marketing concerns. Go. Figure.

I'm looking forward to the cartoon on its own terms--and the designs look great--though I, too, am disappointed it won't be a more seamless match to the previous animated appearances of the Legion in recent years.

You'd think someone at DC/Warner would have spotted a synergy problem in having an ongoing monthly called SUPERGIRL & LSH while having a new cartoon called LSH, featuring "young Superman."

(Not "boy," Your Honor, really. Young man....)

My favorite episode of JLU was the one where she went to the future and met the Legion, so I agree. I thought that made a wonderful starting point for the new cartoon -- but I can just hear the marketing folks talking about how they need a boy leader and a recognizable brand to merchandise around.

Johanna, I'm sorry to see the Legion cartoon won't have Supergirl. She really deserves a show that lets her shine on her own.
