Lea, my banners were made by a company in Kalamazoo called Kalamazoo BannerWorks/Consort Inc., who make street pole banners and trade show graphics called Display One (http://www.displayone.com/stands/exhibitsystem.php).

My suggestion would be to check out a company called Fast Signs, who have stores all over the country and make these cool window shade style one piece banners that roll up into their own container and stand on their own. I've designed a few for other clients and they are sturdy and portable, perfect for boom-zip-set-up-done at a con. Here's a link to the banners I'm talking about:

Next January? You mean 2008, right?
I've sent Johanna the colored version of my con sketch, so she should be posting it anytime now, and I promise I'll get back to BPM as soon as I stop typing this comment. Honest!

Hey! What are you doin' off your drawing board Sizer? If we don't get BPM by at least next January we're all apt to get a mite cranky. (And I just know that anyone cool enough to read Johanna's blog has already been to www.paulsizer.com and seen the kick-ass teaser pieces he's got posted there.)

Paul is looking really good. Nice to see he's still a master at setting up his table promotion. His reader boards coupled with his masterful use of color and wonderful sense of spacial orientation.... am I gushing? I'm gushing. Joanna, can I borrow the hammer of snark for a minute. I want to smack myself in the head with it a few times until I stop pimping Sizer's work.

Attendance could not have been 200,000. No. Way.

I was also just there Friday. This was the first Friday where I didn't have to fight the crowd of people. Attendance HAD to be down on Friday.

Attendance is reported to have been weak at several previous Wizard shows. Perhaps it is time for Wizard to try something else.

Such as......GET RID OF THE WRESTLING!
Such as......make the exhibitors keep the music volume at a reasonable level. I am referring to the Spike TV booth in particular.
Such as......make the "models" wear a bit more clothing. 2 inches of butt cheeks hanging out may be acceptable at the beach, but not there.

In short, try to make the show more family friendly. Don't try to make the entire show appeal to just 12-year-old males and their slightly older, but still immature, cousins.

The DC booth was always active, but the Marvel booth seemed abandoned. And why was Aspen being featured so prominently? Lack of anything else to feature?

That sketch sounds awesome! This reminds me that I need to look into getting the LWM Omnibus and to give Moped Army a try.

I had not heard about a Gumby book before, sounds interesting as I used to love the cartoon as a kid.
