I have air conditioning! Yay house!
I told someone this, and they said, “Yeah, I’d been reading your blog. I had to go without for a month.” That promptly made me feel wussy, but I don’t care. I’m cool and comfy.
Back to comics, it’s sad to hear George Khoury talking about the final cancellation of the Swampmen: Muck-Monsters of the Comics book. (via)
During the summer of last year, I made an attempt to take over the responsiblity of putting the book together with the material that we had, with Jon’s consent; he later had a change of heart and said that only he could design the book because he had a certain vision for it (that I wouldn’t understand apparently). I was crushed because I was really excited to put this thing to rest, but instead I felt like an outsider nor were my ideas welcomed.
Not unexpectedly, Jon B. Cooke failed to meet his deadlines. He does good work with historical comic writing, but he can’t seem to get items out. This is a unfortunately common problem in comics, the inability to delegate or let items go. Perfection is a good thing to aim for, but at some point you have to publish.
