The creative team behind Jax Epoch and the Quicken Forbidden went even wackier with this minicomic series. The tagline says it all: “The ANGST of being a teen — the THRILL of being a boat!”
There’s not much more to it. Teen Boat goes to school, has a crush on the new girl, and has to put up with the local bully. Being able to turn into a small yacht doesn’t make his life any easier: instead of pimples, he gets barnacles.

Teen Boat #1
There are lots of funny bits, groan-inducing puns, and pop culture references. (For example, TB’s best friend is a girl named Joey who climbs in his bedroom window.)
For a short minicomic, it’s a dense read, with plenty going on and good cartooning. Each issue ends with an unbelievable cliffhanger, and the stories switch between fantastic adventure (pirates! icebergs! the lead character!) and school drama (the principal caught us misbehaving and gave us detention!). Later, the class goes to Italy and TB falls in love with a gondola.
Find out more (including sample chapters and a theme song!) at the book’s website. You can buy the six issues from Optical Sloth.

I picked up the entire run of this at San Diego three years ago and I have to say it is without question the goofiest thing I’ve ever seen.
