Bravo, Bill! Bill Sherman writes an essential summary post about viewing manga from the perspective of a comic fan. He hits all the high points: manga fans are more enthusiastic, manga’s a better value, manga is more diverse in both content and target audience… but he also acknowledges, “There is, of course, a lotta formulaic crap out there”.
