Why do people refer to the folklore of the Hindus as myth but they never use this term when refering to the religious legends of Christiantiy Islam? That sounds like anti-Hindu bigotry to me.

Ed Sizemore (first poster), I think you are referring to Amar Chitra Katha (loosely translated, it means immortal tales in pictures), an Indian comic book line about Indian history & myths. I grew up reading them, & love their artwork. They are available in English for delivery in the US. Google it.

Great book. I enjoyed reading it thoroughly. I came to know so much about our gods esp gods like Kubera and Rahu :)

The drawings are superb. This one is must and should be gifted to kids who are young. They would gain good knowledge and respect the gods.

[...] The final book Kevin Melrose reminded me of in a recent posting he made on Blog@Newsarama. It’s Sanjay Patel’s The Little Book of Hindu Deities. This book has been highlighted by a bunch of people lately, including All-New All-Different Howling Curmudgeons, Comics Worth Reading, and Ultrabrown. I absolutely LOVE the illustrations of this book. The character design is charming, the colors are fun and playful, and, from what I can get off the sample pages, the information is also interesting. So, this is probably the book I’m most looking forward to. [...]

This is a wonderful book. I´ve been looking to pick this up for some time now. I think he planned to self-publish it at first, but then was picked up by a publisher which delayed the release.

Johanna, that sounds like a great book and I will be picking up a copy. I know there is a line of comics telling the Hindu myths. Unfortunately, I only saw a copy of them once and didn't get a chance to write down the publisher information. I know they were well drawn and looked to be entertaining and educational. Your review reminds me I need to find them.
