"The artist is not great with the likenesses, either. If I know what someone already looks like, I can see the resemblance in the art, but I thought the faces were overly stiff and strangely unattractive (not something I usually say about the CSI cast). There's a lot of shadowing used."

I think a great deal of the problem with the art on the cover, at least, is that it's traced off of Googled pictures. There's no apparent study of the characters from photographs then drawing a caricature from that.

Try taking any one of those images of comics pros from the cover and lay it over the corresponding image found via Google. Be not amazed.

I read the whole thing, I was pretty excited by it, really, I figured it might fall out. I wasn't unsatisfied with it. I talked to Ed Brubaker, at a local con before the last issue came out, probably around issue 2 or so, and I asked him if he killed Rich, and he said no. He also said that he liked the way Grant wrote it, with all the stereotypes and misconceptions, kind of like if someone on the TV show had been asked to write it. You know making up rivalries... playing up the drama. I still think it could have been better, but I also thought it was alot of fun.

Did it hold up pretty well story wise? I've enjoyed the CSI comics I've read, but didn't order the trade of this. Mainly because I saw the potential of it being too in-joky and thus sort of lame.

Of course Didio couldn't have been the target, because then the obvious choice for murderer would have been Keith Giffen. "You killed all of my characters, you #%@@%!! All because you don't want any FUN in comics!!"

Wow that sound awful. I didn't think anything could be worse than the actual CSI TV shows (some of the worst garbage I've seen on TV or anywhere else) but this cringe-inducing comic proved me wrong.
