Divalicious! Out Today

I’m looking forward to this graphic novel. I’ve enjoyed T Campbell’s stories in the past (he writes Penny and Aggie, among other things), and what I’ve seen of Amy Mebberson’s art I’ve really liked.
The two released a special convention-only eight-page preview at the NY Con, and I have the first couple of pages for you. Click the thumbnails to see the images. This makes me ready for the manga!

Looks like it might be fun, but I find the generic amerimanga art style a bit offputting.

I picked it up the other day at the local BAM store, looks fun though I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.

Marionette, I liked it, and I don’t think it’s particularly generic. Could you elaborate on what you mean, because what I’m getting from your comment seems vague to me? There are more extensive previews at the Tokyopop site.

Good! I’m glad to see Amy back in comics again. I was sad to see her previous AS IF stuff not get the foothold it deserved, but this seems to show her work in a new talent level with a whole new audience to impress. Good catch for TokyoPop!

THAT’s where I know the name! I was sad that the AS IF collection never appeared, because I was really looking forward to it.

Well I read it and I loved it. I thought that the cover was very cute. But doesn’t she sort of look like Mariah Carey, just a little?

Marionette - if you’re basing your ‘generic’ assessment off the con-special cover, I hope you understand that the cover is a very VERY deliberate parody of Naoko Takeuchi’s style.
As for As If! - yeah, I haven’t abandoned that yet. I’d like to get it all re-released someday and resurrect the strip again in some format. Maybe sit down with TP after Divalicious! and see what they think ;)
And yes. Yes, Tina DOES look like Mariah Carey…and Beyonce and Lindsay and Jessica and Britney and Jojo and every other starlet out there. ;)
