I’m in a crappy mood. Pollen season means headaches and congestion, while I’m also generally depressed and uninterested in anything I used to like. Two things have cheered me up. The first: I bought DVD sets of both Automan and Probe so I can watch them over and over. (Yes, I’m obsessed. I’m toying with the idea of an essay on why Automan is the best superhero ever.)
The second: I’m reading Murder Princess for a review, and it’s surprisingly entertaining. Bounty hunter and princess swap bodies and have to defeat the mad scientist who killed the king. Just the kind of escapism I didn’t know I needed right now, and then I hit this panel:
It resonated with me, Buffy in a dress and her wacky friends on their way to save the kingdom.

Sorry to hear about your allergies. We are having subfreezing weather here, so my allergies have yet to kick in.
Last year I tried taking herbal nettles and that did knock it down a bit.

I can never tell with Manga who’s male and who’s female; is this gender-swapping comedy or just class-swapping comedy?

If you could get DVDs of Manimal, Misfits of Science, and M.A.N.T.I.S. your collection would be complete.

That is a great panel, isn’t it? Reminds me of Buffy in the prom dress and leather jacket from the last episode of the first season.
I like the fact that her group of friends includes Hellboy and Ghost Rider, too. ;-)
Hope you’re feeling better soon. I’m feeling like crap myself and I don’t even have allergies to blame it on. :-/

Thanks to everyone for good wishes. I’m feeling a bit better as we get a late cold snap in the area.
Manimal’s next on my list, assuming that the quality of these sets are good and they arrive as promised. If I like them, I’ll share my source then too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen MANTIS.
Alan: just class, not gender. I liked that the female bounty hunter was never remarked on for being a girl.
Rob: Yeah, the character description for the big guy even says “inspired by a movie monster”, so they’re not shy about it.

No problems with MY seasonal allergies… because it’s SNOWING here in Kalamazoo! Yes, SNOW, the best defense against pollen! Ask for it by name!
