Swan is an excellent manga, but i've only been able to find the first volume.

Aventura is another that i personally would recommend.

Might I suggest Yu Yu Hakusho? It's really not just "another fighting manga."

I also enjoyed Peach Girl and the spin-off recently introduced in the states "Sae's Story."

What can I say? I have conflicting tastes!

I totally agree with the Pet Shop of Horrors. I passed it by for years, not really knowing what is was, and then took a chance when I saw the first two books for sale cheap. I absolutely loved it! The characters, humor and stories have all sucked me in! I'm now reading the rest of the series AND getting all of Akino's manga that's available in english!

Sugar Sugar Rune by Moyoco Anno. When I first heard that ADV was planning to release an all-ages magical girl series from Moyoco Anno...I was certain that someone at ADV was definitely smoking banana peels on the job

In the credit where it's due department, it's we over at Del Rey Manga that're publishing Sugar Sugar Rune. Any associated speculation of exotic inhilation should be directed at us and not our colleagues over at ADV. ;-)

But I'm glad you like the series!

Well since I've read five of the titles on your list and agree with your assessment of them, I guess you're going to be a very helpful reviewer to read. Thanks for giving us all a baseline to work with.

Rob, thanks for the list. This really helps me understand your manga preferences. Mine are fairly similar. I will have to try Sugar Sugar Rune.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who read Saikano. It is one of the great overlooked mangas.
