Today is Free Comic Book Day, and I’ll be at Richmond Comix in Richmond (Midlothian), Virginia.
How did it go?
Well. It was very tiring, and I didn’t get a final roundup from the store owner because I left mid-afternoon. But good consistent traffic, and lots of comics given out.
It went great! Frank was extremely happy today. Between FCBD and the big Magic tournament today it was a VERY good weekend. I need to go pass out now.
Oh, I’m glad to hear it. I know he wasn’t looking forward to two big event days in a row, so it’s wonderful to hear he was happy. Thanks for letting me know!
It was my nephew’s first time in a comic store and I know he came out a happy customer. He got an original dinosaur sketch, a bunch of free comics and then he found the Scooby comics and was treated a bunch of them by his uncle.
I went by one of thse shops in my area on FCBD, and was at first really surprised at the number of cars in the parking lot. Until I got in and saw that they were having a Magic card game.
They apparently had some success early though. I looked at the Spider-Man issue, but didn’t get it since it was the last copy and since it was only 2pm. I did get the LSH issue though, and picked up some of Cooke’s Spirit issues. Plus I got the new Marc Crilley and that Princess series you had a page from earlier at BAM..
I was down to one again nothing besides DC, Marvel and Archie, but still I got some nice books so it was a nice day.
