Upcoming Events in Richmond, VA

Sunday, June 10, the Central Virginia Comicon will be held at the Crowne Plaza on West Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia. Admission is $4, $3 if you sign up for their mailing list. Their press release lists the following guests:

Randy Green!
This Dude’s credits read like a must-read selection of comics from all of the big publishers! He has done pencils on…are you ready?…Buffy, Teen Titans, New X-Men, Witchblade, The Dolls, Tomb Raider, Decimation: The House of M, Emma Frost and More! Whew!

Rick Ketcham!
An amazing comic inker who has done work on all sorts of comics for all of the major publishers. He will be bringing tons of original artwork with him, and you can see how well he compliments Randy’s pencils. Who knows…if you get there early enough you MAY be able to get a commissioned piece pencilled by Randy and inked by Rick! Why not pick his brain on his upcoming project with Joss Whedon while you are at it! Psst….it rhymes with “Runaways”!

Louis Small Jr.!
We are Pleased to welcome Mr. Small back to our show! He is known for art chores on a host of fun material from the last decade, including Shi, Lady Death, Vampirella, Codename: Knockout for DC Vertigo, and more! Mr. Small will be bringing original art for sale, signing, and will be taking a limited number of sketch commissions, so get there early!

Kevin Sharpe!
Kevin is certainly a VA Comicon Fan Favorite! Mr. Sharpe has been one of the biggest names to take part in the Dynamite explosion that is…well…Dynamite! Army of Darkness fans know Mr. Sharpe’s work very well, and we can’t wait to see more of his work coming soon on some exciting BattleStar Galactica projects for 2007. On a side note, Kevin began working years ago on Vampirella…the same series that Louis Small Jr. worked on. NEAT!

If you’re interested in seeing Green and Ketcham but busy on Sunday, they’ll be appearing at Velocity Comics the day before, Saturday, June 9, at 4 PM.

Later in the month, June 19, Velocity will host Paul Hornschemeier (The Three Paradoxes), also at 4 PM.
