Can’t help with deep-discount manga, but are you interested in deep-discount anime? Right Stuf is doing a crazy sale on all Geneon DVDs right now, 10 for $50, 25 for $100, with free shipping and a pretty good selection. (My recommendations of the top of my head: Haibane Renmei, Last Exile, Read or Die, NieA Under 7, Starship Operators). No problem, too bad there isn’t anything from Tokyopop out that I follow that I don’t already have.

Marvel, I’m tempted by new Runaways and Mary Jane digests, but can’t find a third one.:)

Alan, I know, I’m a picky customer… I want the best price and excellent condition.

John, so far, I’m not impressed. My original message included my order number, and the only response I’ve gotten so far said they had no record of it. So I resent with a whole bunch more information they demanded. I haven’t heard back yet.

Personal preference I guess.

If you offered me two copies of the same manga, one with a sticker at a dollar less than the flawless copy, I’d take the stickered copy without hesitation.

I ordered a few manga volumes from Deep Discount, and while they split the order into two parts and I’ve yet to receive the second one, the first order arrived with no problems.

I don’t think I’ve ordered anything from them since they were Deep Discount DVD. I had a few problems with orders getting delayed (and I’ve already gone into their email practices at the time), but whenever I actually spoke to customer service they were helpful. Even with the one title that somehow managed to ship with no actual disc in the box, that I didn’t open until a month later, I had no problem exchanging it. Wish I could remember whether I paid return postage, though.

Still, the overall service was frustrating enough that once Amazon dropped their prices on DVDs, I found myself ordering at Amazon unless the price difference was significant.

That’s too bad. I wonder what kind of stickers Books A Million uses?

They are currently having a sale where you but 2 Tokyopop or Marvel collections and get 1 free. Which has a huge sticker on all of the books, but they are easy to get off with no damage to the books.

I think book chain stores are my preferred way to buy manga anyway. I can browse a wide selection, save a few bucks, and know the condition.

Even though manga aren’t collectibles –Which is still a little talked about reason I think some comic fans and retailers dislike them.– I still want one in nice condition.
