Colbert Question: Comic Plug?

Oni launched Stephen Colbert’s Tek Jansen with a release on July 11. (The book was delayed from its originally planned March date, which isn’t surprising for a licensed publication, especially if the licensee wants input and isn’t familiar with the typical comic publishing schedule.)
Unfortunately, Colbert’s TV show The Colbert Report was on vacation that week, so there wasn’t a mention of the title, which his viewers would presumably be interested in. Oddly, though, I don’t believe there’s been any mention since he’s been back, either. Isn’t that losing out on the biggest potential of the license? I mean, you can’t make someone plug something, but it’s surprising to note the lack, especially since the book was done with his participation and it seems like it would fit into the tone of the show.
At least the fan site plugged it. And Entertainment Weekly online, who ran a preview. And it’s gotten decent reviews, even if Graeme didn’t like it.

Thanks for the plug!
I was wondering about that myself, why there has been no plug on the show. It might be because there was no Amazon sales outlet yet, or that OniPress was having problems keeping it in stock. But who’s to say. I can promise you this, though, when we hear about it being on the show, we’ll definitely mention it on the NoFactZone.net.

No, he hasn’t plugged it yet; I imagine he will soon.

I thought it was odd he didn’t plug it either, but I have a theory, as unlikely as it is: he’s planning on doing a segment on Comic-Con International this week and will plug the Tek comic in conjunction with that piece.

I think it would be MUCH funnier to have Colbert appear on The Daily Show in character to plug the Tek comic. The faux enmity between Colbert and Jon Stewart since the Report’s debut has always been entertaining.
