I think it would be MUCH funnier to have Colbert appear on The Daily Show in character to plug the Tek comic. The faux enmity between Colbert and Jon Stewart since the Report's debut has always been entertaining.

I thought it was odd he didn’t plug it either, but I have a theory, as unlikely as it is: he’s planning on doing a segment on Comic-Con International this week and will plug the Tek comic in conjunction with that piece.

I was wondering about that myself, why there has been no plug on the show. It might be because there was no Amazon sales outlet yet, or that OniPress was having problems keeping it in stock. But who’s to say. I can promise you this, though, when we hear about it being on the show, we’ll definitely mention it on the NoFactZone.net.
