I hope this is apropriate, given that the review is about the contents of the book, but dang that cover is cute!

Amy’s also done the illustrations for the game Diner Dash. I don’t know if she’s done the sequels as well (if she’s not, it’s someone doing a good imitation).

I’m glad Sebastian cleared up Amy’s cv. Amy was one of the artists I tried to hire for GirlAMatic when I was recruiting before its initial launch.

I, too, felt the same way–that the second book didn’t meet the expectations that had been set up by the first. The “other” relationship in the second book only served as a mediocre distraction from the two existing storylines (Nicole/Josh’s relationship and the fantasy story). I really could have done without it.

While overall, it wasn’t everything I hoped it would be, it was still better than a lot of other stuff I’ve read. And the art is a nice change-up from the usual manga fare.

I was concerned that my comments may have come out more negative than I intended, probably because of my disappointment. I was so looking forward to reading this! And the experience was not nearly as good as I expected. It’s not a bad book, just not a great one, either.

Good point on her creative history. Thank you for correcting me.

Two things…

One: personally, I didn’t have an equally negative impression of the book. Perhaps because I haven’t read enough romance-novels to find the plot as generic and I really, really liked the graphic style. It was very neatly wrapped up, though, perhaps a bit too neatly.

Two: Ganter being “discovered” through Tokyopop feels a bit skewed. She was published through (late) Studio Ironcat’s (late) “AmeriManga” anthology about 1-2 years before she entered the RSoM contest and she had her webcomic “Reman Mythology” even before that, IIRC. All that, of course, wasn’t nearly as widely distributed as TP is.
