Yes, it was a pretty obvious hoax. Our fear was that manga fans would catch it immediately, but we hoped it might take root among the hard core KISS fans before it was snuffed out.

Hah! My favorite part is that they actually poached the BLU copy for “Wild Rock” as part of the story description. :-)

It’s a hoax. I just did a Google image search, and turned up the original, unaltered picture of Kaoru and Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

That image is actually pretty popular amoungst Eva yaoi fans (er, so I’ve heard)- here’s an example of the non-photoshoped version.

I was a die-hard KISS fan in my youth. This manga will certainly cause me to re-interpret many of my old favorite songs now. I would get this manga–if the characters stayed in make-up the entire time like the cover shows.
