And you're entitled to be disappointed that you're not getting the product you envisioned and want. (I feel the same way about the Modern Masters line.) At least in this case, you have a choice. (Too Pollyanna?)

Paul: Thanks for the info. As you can guess, it's unfortunately not the answer I was hoping to hear.

The main reason I dislike the small size is that it makes me sad when a small format compresses fine artwork like that of Medley or McNeil: I find that detail is lost and the content becomes less readable. (By contrast, I love the oversized formats that Marvel and Image have been producing.) Following the Castle Waiting hardcover I thought for quite a while which I preferred: A durable hardcover volume, or the larger-size paperback collections. I concluded that the presentation of the material was more important to me than the durability of the binding or having the whole thing in a single, larger volume.

All of which means, I'll probably pass on the Finder hardcover and stick with the paperbacks.

Johanna: I see your point about comic size being non-standard for publishers. Presumably cost also factors into it for small publishers. Admittedly I'm a rather nonstandard consumer (I imagine most serious collectors are), but that doesn't make me less disappointed.

I helped Carla with the pre-press production on this new volume. The book will be a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" format hardcover with new cover art.

I thought the Castle Waiting format was perfect for the material, myself, giving it the feel of an antique book that suited the setting.

I couldn't find size listings online, but I suspect the Finder HC won't be comic-sized... because that's considered a non-standard size for many book printers.

Do we know whether it's going to be a full-sized collection, or is it going to be a diminutive collection like the Castle Waiting hardcover was? I would love to buy "Sin-Eater" in a full-sized hardcover (oversized would be fine, too), but I'd probably pass on an undersized collection. (I still kind of feel like I was bait-and-switched on the CW collection, although I guess it's my own fault for not reading the info in Previews closely enough before ordering. But I'd never encountered that sort of thing before, so...)
