I confess that was my first thought, too. I also note, though, that other blogospheric commentators are wondering if hiring Robinson might have been some way to forestall any Siegel-like legal action Robinson may have been contemplating.

Still, if I’m going to indulge in idle speculation into DC’s motive here absent any real information, I’m happy to ascribe generous, selfless motives to them rather than more calculated, sinister ones.

Here’s more on Robinson’s career. The Omnibuses, at least the Marvel, seem to have ok construction. I didn’t notice any problems with the X-Men one, anyway. My biggest issue was not having the sheer quantity of material become overwhelming.

Yup its a pretty good gesture on DC part.

In the face of thing like the Superman rights thing, its a long over due outreach to older creators. (he helped create the Joker among others right?)

How are the Ominibuses? DC and Marvel both have them, now and I wondered if they were well put together or not.
