Sinfest Rocks!

The best webcomic out there? Sinfest. Clever, creative, always fresh and funny, amazing cartooning skills.

Today I’m pointing it out because this particular strip blends religion and superheroes in a way that’s respectful to conventions of both and still over-the-top hilarious. But it’s good all the time.

Buy the books.

I’m going to have to memorize your description of Sinfest. I’m a huge fan of the strip but I become completely inarticulate when I try to tell people about it. I end up saying it’s mostly about calligraphy and religion and sex. Somehow this never appeals.

  2. Johanna Says:

Oh, yeah, I forgot the sex! Although I usually think of it in terms of gender role exploration. Glad you found it helpful!

  3. Dawn Says:

You’re right. “Gender role exploration” is a more apt description. But, at that point, I’m usually trying to recover from “calligraphy.”

  4. Eric Says:

I generally describe it as “a comedic combination of immaturity, irreverence, stereotypes, and puppies” or some rephrasing of that. For some reason people are intrigued without fail.
