Steve Conley, artist on Star Trek: Year Four, has launched a new project: Socks and Barney. In case the names sound familiar, here’s the strip’s self-description:

Bill Clinton has a pet cat named Socks. George W. Bush has a pet dog named Barney. Rudy Giuliani has a pet rat named Vinny and Denis Kucinich has a martian proto-glompulus named Gremphylogumot.

Starting today and each weekday for the upcoming year, a new Socks and Barney strip will take a look at the primary and election processes through the most appropriate lens available: butt-sniffing, dumb animals.

It’s got potential, plus I just want to know how busy Steve does it!
