Due Out This Week + Late Books

Coming out tomorrow that you may want to pay attention to:

It’s a great week for DC Comics, with the launch of Bat Lash, the last issue of Captain Carrot and the Final Ark, a Booster Gold issue, and another volume of Emma. Plus, I’m giving Wonder Woman another try.

In the “hee hee hee” file, Diamond is shipping on the same day both numbers 11 and 12 of Geek Monthly. Did they not read the title? Way to kill customer interest, guys.

I will be mail-ordering Spike: Shadow Puppets to get a more reasonable price. Writer Brian Lynch does a great job with the Joss Whedon characters.

I’m looking forward to the latest volume of Beauty Pop manga, too.

While I’m looking at orders, whatever happened to …

  • Fell #9 (due July) and following? Warren Ellis move on to something else? The $1.99 experiment was widely reported as successful, but I’m guessing that the creators can do other things more profitably.
  • The Bakers: Babies & Kittens (due July)? Kyle Baker’s first cartoon collection about his family was self-published; this one was due out from Image. He’s released Special Forces though them instead.
  • Buckaroo Banzai: Return of the Screw (due September)? I greatly speculate when reprint collections are late; I start wondering if the publisher decided they wanted to sell more of the single issues first or other jaded reasons. I like Amazon’s statement: “We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.” Yeah, that’s how I feel. Although their website lists tomorrow as the release date, Diamond says the 19th.

I was going to put the last issue of Love the Way You Love (due September) on this list, but the artist says that he’s had repetitive stress wrist injuries, which I sympathize with. I do want my romance, though!
