Geary's Great Expectations was one of their early adaptations, I believe. My recollection is that the creators who got screwed were the later adaptations (particularly the ones that were assigned and then not published by First because they stopped publishing). this probably included one of my favorites of their adaptations, Peter Kuper's The Jungle.

The First version of Classics Illustrated did such a good job of finding artists that fit the mood of the works -- I'm really glad to see them coming back into print.

My question: Many of the creators of First Comics were royally screwed when that operation went belly-up. As a result, I'd wonder if Geary was getting any sort of reprint money for this new edition. I'd be less interested if there's no payments for the creators because of some hitch in the First situation.
