Glenn,

I went over to ComicMix to send in a PR and found the effort fairly frustrated. I sent one through the generic post-hole that comes up under the 'Contact Us' button.

Is there another, better place to send press releases to?

It's nice to see that Lone Star is still around. I loved Pantheon, and was fortunate enough to have a comic book shop that stocked the entire series. Highly recommended.

Rich,

I just get a little queasy when I send my properties over to the land of pirates for a walkabout.

So far, Verizon is the big advertiser. I dunno if they sell their cell phone services there around the globe or not.

By the way, the Bill Mantlo tribute book is up for download on WOWIO now. I think its a worthy cause. I kicked in money and digits.

Bill, there's no risk whatsoever regarding copyright.

The problem is that the service is paid for by advertising and its US companies advertising in Wowio. Why should they pay for eyeballs in England when they're selling, I dunno, Reese's Pieces?

Wowio is great! I've gotten Pantheon, George Gladir's Cindy and Her Obasan comic, Bill Mantlo's Swords of the Swashbucklers, and tons of other stuff. Any creator who has a book that's out of print should consider putting it up. Checker Books even puts up content from their books that are in print.

The only downside for me as a reader is the limitation of only 30 downloads a month. Three a day is fine, but only 30 a month means that you get out of the dialy habit of checking and downloading.

I used to read Pantheon and Strange Heroes in print and was always impressed at how good the books were.

One of the issues of Pantheon dealt with a villain who killed anyone he looked at. It was haunting stuff.

I got an email from the higher ups at WOWIO yesterday and in it, they said that the service would soon be offered to CANADA. And then the world. Maybe they wanted to make sure that their reader agreement conformed to US law before tempting international law. I dunno.

There is a risk in sending your valuable content to parts of the world that do not respect copyright protection.

I think the reward is higher, but that is a judgment that others may not agree with.

And Glenn, I'll send you something next cycle.

Thanks, Ray. I'm always open to suggestions of people readers would like to see me talk to.

Dani, supposition is that it's based on the advertising. It's a lot easier to sell US-company ads that will be shown to X number of US viewers. It's harder to sell worldwide-suitable ads or figure out what (number less than X) were part of the target audience the company wanted.
