In August 2007, Pennsylvania comic book retailer Michael George was arrested for the alleged murder of his wife in 1990 in Detroit.
Today, George was found guilty of first-degree murder, felony firearm, insurance fraud and obtaining money from an insurance agency under false pretenses. The sentence is mandatory life in prison. The jury only went out for deliberation Friday afternoon, which strikes me as a remarkably short time to make a decision about murder charges. When I was on jury duty, our deliberations were short because we had no question that the defendant was guilty.
