Penzey’s Spices Now Open in Richmond

I’m not very brand-loyal these days — who can be, with few deserving it? — but one of the few companies I am incredibly devoted to is Penzey’s Spices. Headquartered in Wisconsin, they sell herbs, spices, gift boxes, and best of all, seasoning blends and mixes.

Their store here in Richmond, Virginia, on Cary Street has just opened, and it is wonderful. Helpful staff, great selection, and lots and lots of information about spices and how to work with them. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area… or near any of their other stores (or you can order online). I don’t have any association with them, but I want them to thrive so I can keep shopping there.

I grew up in Wisconsin and have shopped Penzey’s for years. I only found out about the Richmond store location when doing a websearch to order a catalog. as a transplate to Richmond, I am thrilled to find out they have a store here in town. What a wonderful treat, the smells alone will keep folks returning, the quality of their products are outstanding and the opportunities to purchase small amounts in order to experiment without spending a lot of money on large containers are only a few of the reasons this should be a “must visit” for anyone who cooks. YEA ! ! ! !
