guys, you have to know that when it all boils down to it marvel wants to make more money. if that means re-printing the first issue again then let them… ITS NO BIG DEAL! I Have the first print of this comic so an other print will increase my comics value , right? Plus the story is what matters not the cover…..

Marvel's changed its mind, apparently. Second printings of both Invincible Iron Man #1 and Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas #1 have been announced.

I suspect one of two scenarios in these circumstances:

1) Marvel is using this sell-out as a way to spur heavier ordering by retailers. It certainly sounds as though there’s a demand for Iron Man comics, and I would imagine retailers are watching potential sales walk out the door now.

… or …

2) Marvel is waiting for the second issue to “sell out” so it can issue one of its “Must Have” editions, collecting a couple of issues.

I actually popped into some of the local shops in my area today. I was surprised at how all of the issues of this were gone.

Usually when I see sellouts I still see plenty of copies in the stores.

I’m thinking they said that solely to build popular demand so they can look like heroes when they announce a second print.

And while I’m being all old and cynical, I’m wondering if Wizard has 20,000 copies available @ $20 each.

I am grumpy today. Perhaps I need a hit or two of rum to mellow me a bit.

Unfortunately, Barry, Marvel scheduled everything to come out the Wednesday after the movie instead of before. But there was the new series, a new miniseries written by the movie director (Viva Las Vegas), the Omnibus, and several trade collections.

I’m wondering if Marvel’s just waiting to build demand and then announce a reprint with a new cover or something. I can’t imagine them not doing so, because it would so badly handicap this new series. Unless it’s sold out from the publisher but there are still plenty of copies on the retailer shelves.

Can’t speak as to what’s in the stores right now but I checked out a copy of Previews two weeks ago and there were a gazillion Iron Man series in it.

I don’t really read comics anymore and rarely check the latest news, so I was wondering what Marvel was doing on the comic book end to take advantage of the movie’s stunning success, as I saw not a single Iron Man comic at my local retailer last week. It seems that nothing has changed as far as their ridiculous, short-sighted policy of not going back to press on sold out books. Makes me not miss this stuff at all.
