The romance part is borderline puppy love, the heroine is run-of-the-mill clumsy girl that is meant to be endearing, which is true at first, but becomes tediously tiresome and wearisome as the story progresses.

The only time the heroine shows some independence and sign of intelligence is near the end of the series. But, unfortunately, it ends with her going back to her usual ditzy bimbo style.
