I hope the anime staff can take the good pieces and get ride of the disjointed elements of the manga to produce a good series. But I still really enjoyed it for the characters, who, I thought, were nicely written. And the world he builds, while maybe confused and his first real attempt at it, is really interesting and has left me wanting to read more about it.
