Ugh...this criticism is about as silly as the time somebody complained to me that "The Lord of the Ring" movies sucked because there were no black people in it. That's exactly what Peter Jackson should have done--introduced a black hobbit character to ensure nobody could accuse him of being racially insensitive. I'm sure black audiences felt ostracized by the lack of racial parity among the fellowship. I mean, c'mon, there were elves and dwarves, but no black people?!?! Blatant racism...

I swear, Shriekback seems to have cornered the market in the use of the word "parthenogenesis"! (Shriekback = quirky tribal/electronic/alternative band in the mid/late 80's-90's, sang songs about weird stuff and were very funky, best album; "Oil and Gold")

I also find it really odd, especially since Oni is so well know for putting out titles that ARE female friendly. Not saying this book will not be female friendly, but still, it does seem kind of short sighted.
