Those older cartoons, Jetsons and Flintstones and the like, are seen every day on Cartoon Network’s other channel, Boomerang.

It’s also interesting in light of the slow but steady vanishing of so many HB staples from Cartoon Network. Some of the Sundry Scooby programs pop up, and Tom & Jerry.

But The Flintstones, the Jetsons et al live on in DVD and ads only, it seems. I’ve been lobbying my local cable for the Boomerang network to no avail.

So, I’m glad to see a version of these characters pop up. Considering their lineage traces back to The Many Loves Of DObie Gillis ( another now-unseen staple that I’ve great affection for), 2009 will span 50 years!

Very interesting. After doing a websearch on the actors names and I found that they are really young, hence why you haven’t heard of them.

It appears that this is the first acting role for the one playing Shaggy. (found a “Way to go!” blog entry from an acting school)

Also its a bit more racially diverse cast as well.
