The folks behind the Scrapyard Detectives want letters!
Kids who send in letters or artwork of the characters get a free black-and-white minicomic called “The Secret Case Files” (shown here). The artist, Bill Galvan, compares the stories inside to The X-Files or the Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror. They involve the supernatural or science fiction, and creators include Jim Rugg (The Plain Janes), George Gladir (Archie), Derek Hunter (Pirate Club), and Quinn Johnson (Tales of the TMNT).
The issue is only available in response to feedback, which the creators encourage. They want to publish as many letters and pictures as possible in future Scrapyard Detectives issues to encourage kids to write and draw. Artwork and letters can be sent to:
