CBLDF Staff Additions

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has added two new staff members to assist Executive Director Charles Brownstein.

The new Deputy Director is Mike Scigliano, formerly of Wizard Conventions and sales and marketing for DC Comics. His tasks are listed as “improving the Fund’s premium offerings online, overseeing the organization’s convention presence, and assisting in overall management.” That second one may be necessary after Brownstein burned some bridges; rumor has it that he’s no longer as welcome at some conventions as he had been, so having someone else take on that visibility aspect is a good choice.

As Fundraising Manager, Jill Friedman “will be overseeing the organization’s membership program, online auctions, outreach, and special events, and assisting in mission communications.” This position was originally advertised as part-time but has been converted to full-time based on the press release.

I hope these hires help the organization continue its valuable mission.
