The Jane movie - either unwilling to follow Ennis' physical excesses or simply unable to afford that many squibs - actually has only "moderate" violence. And it keeps the emotional core of Ennis' initial story about the importance of family.

(Yes, I used "emotional core" and "Garth Ennis" in the same sentence. I know it is hard to believe, but he can do it when he wants to.)

Yes, yes, that's sarcasm about the reliability. And thank you for providing more accuracy. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on women watching the movie; please let me know when/where they're posted.

The ever-reliable Wiki? I DO hope you were joking! Anyone can add anything to Wiki and it's often a long time before inaccuracies or downright falsehoods are corrected. Let me begin here (or continue, rather) setting the record straight on PWZ.

Kurt Sutter took his name off the script because, after re-writes, too little remained of his original work to merit having his name on it.

There WAS some tension between Lexi Alexander and Lion's Gate films which seems to have been eased enough for her to oversee the post-production process to completion. Even though there was tension, there was NEVER a suggestion that her name would not appear on the credits as having directed this film.

From all appearances, PWZ is going to be uber violent. But I think there are a lot of reasons that women can get behind Frank Castle/The Punisher. I'm blogging that one soon.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment here, Johanna.
