Just had to add my tuppance worth. FLUXX is a classic and deserves to be. Brilliant!! Each spin off had its merits, but 'Monty Python' seems like a 'Mirage made in Hendon'. Can't wait. This set will be dear to me as I have worked with the Python lads a few times. Of course, we are all getting on a bit now. Keep up the good work.
Cheers!

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. I've had games where I've felt like I had no choices for a couple of rounds, but every time, something came around that shook things up again (whether a "trash your hand and draw new cards" card or a change in goals).

I have only played Ecofluxx and only one game of it during a drunken evening with friends, but even though the basic idea of a game where both the rules and the conditions of victory constantly change was appealing, the practice of the game was not. It seemed to me that mostly the rules just made playing the game impossible - I spent at least two thirds of our playtime in a situation where my game was on autopilot, I literally had no play options other than to draw a card per turn and play the card I just drew. Even rudimentary tactical planning is nigh impossible because the goal posts are shifted every round, so all you really can do is slap cards and marvel at how incredibly <i>stupid</i> it all is.

Fluxx is so easy to start and jump right in, which I think is part of its appeal to almost any game-player.

Rivkah, I love board games, although I'm not very current on them. I had almost 80 at one point a couple of decades ago, but an untimely flood destroyed them all. We play Sequence most these days as a family.

A card game review? AWESOME. And here I thought we board and card game lovers were a dying breed.

I've never played this one, but it sounds like just the kinds of games my siblings and I used to play when we were little (and that I still occasionally try to drag them back into).

Just wanted to add to the love-in for Fluxx.

I'm in the process of opening a games and comic shop in Scotland and I see Fluxx (in all it's forms) to be a great mass market game for promotions and the like.

Cheers,

Fluxx is a great card game! When my wife and I worked in the same building, we played Fluxx on our lunch hour. Usually about once a week someone would come by and ask about this strange game we were playing, and by the end of the hour a new Fluxx Fann was born.
