Paul, oh, yes! I forgot that still wasn't out to everyone, since I was lucky enough to read it early. There's always at least one good book that gets caught in the cutoff. Last year, for me, it was Midnight Sun.

I’m mostly in agreement with you here, but I can’t imagine a place for TOKEN on any best of the year list…! I found it really obvious and cliched at best. I hope you’ll do a review of it at some point, I’m curious why you thought it deserved a best-anything nod.

I had a similar reaction, admittedly because my new graphic novel “B.P.M.” is just shipping now to hit stores later this month. So with these lists (whether or not it would make either) “B.P.M.” is excluded, even with a November release date, plenty ahead of the holiday and end-of-the-year period.
