Agreed on how wonderful this series is. You made me nervous when you said you were 3 volumes behind but I checked Amazon and actually only #12 is supposedly out now. (#13 out Nov. 10) Which calmed me, I've had other manga series I've liked just disappear from stores before. (Kindaichi)

My favorite part was the confrontation/meeting of Hachi and her love from the early volumes. I was just impressed at how it was handled, because you could see that they way they saw each other as being had so little to do with what they were now. (especially Hachi's person)

Also wonderful to see that people who are so nice and likable otherwise, could rub against each other so wrong because of past history.

I have to go try to hunt up #12 now! lol

I love your NANA reviews. Gah. Reading this review, I'm brought back to every bit of anxiety and pain and love I felt for these characters in this volume, especially in your description at the beginning of Hachi's reaction to Nobu's text message. You remind me here of exactly why I love this series (and this volume) so much. Also, I agree wholeheartedly that this series needs to be savored. I admit that I raced through initially, just out of insane impatience to know what happens next, but since then I've gone back to savor each volume slowly--to experience this story as it should be experienced. Thankfully I'm a re-reader, so this works for me. :)

I sound like a crazy, gushing fangirl, I know. This series brings that out in me. Mostly I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your reviews of NANA. Thank you for sharing them with us all.
