io9.com hasn’t forgotten about my beloved Middleman. They asked Kevin Sorbo about his role as the 60s version of the hero, and he mentions “talk of a spin off”, although he was too busy to pursue it.
Then io9 followed up with show creator Javier Grillo-Marxuach, who says
we are all focused on closing a deal for a DVD set that will please the fans with a lot of bonus material, bring new viewers to the show, and secure the show’s legacy and longevity.
Sounds like sales of such a set will determine whether the show ever returns. I’m not optimistic, but I am hopeful that more viewers will discover how good the show was on DVD.
