The DVD has an option for “live audience” which is effectively a laugh track. It’s also available without the audience, but it should be noted that the use of “canned” applause is used frequently throughout both versions.

I watched it last night and was incredibly pleased. I found the Toby Keith somewhat lacking in the humor, but I didn’t find it at all inappropriate or offensive.

Overall I think the entire thing was a satirical success and I imagine it is already a classic, one we will see over and over again. After all, Comedy Central owns the rights.

Thanks for the review. Looks like I’ll pass on seeing this special. I wonder what the shelf of this DVD will be? Seems too topical to become perennial.
