Ooh neat, I won an Ipod touch at my Christmas party on Friday. I've been playing the "Guitar Hero" style game a little. I'll have to look for this too.

The Touch was voted one of the best gadgets/toys in of the year in the recent EW issue. I haven't tried the fishing game they talked about in it though.

Oh, and one other thing -- the most popular category of downloads from the App store is "Games." And Apple is doing their best to promote the iPhone/iPod Touch these days as a gaming device. So it all fits together nicely.

Yup, Vincent is right. Apple met their goal of selling 10 million iPhones in 2008. In fact, it's currently at 13 million.

The App store is also a huge hit, with some Mac developers planning on going iPhone/iPod Touch exclusive with the lucrative market they have there now.

As I recall, Apple doesn't break out the sales for individual iPod types. So I'm not sure that number is available, but I'm sure it's in the millions, too. Apple sold something like 20 million iPods, overall, in the last quarter alone.

I'm crossing my fingers -- my contract with Verizon is up this spring, and I might be able to get the iPhone. Can't wait.

You're very likely right. I think I saw mention of another one, maybe for The Spirit movie, that used the "shake to select" feature to randomize wallpapers and image display.

There's a lot of iPhones out there: more than 10 million, probably a lot more. Plus, I think iPhone users tend to be the right demographic for games like this: Lego fans, comics fans, etc.

It likely didn't take a lot of developer effort, either (the games look pretty simple). I suspect we'll be seeing this much, much more in the future.
