My Disney Vacation Pictures

KC and I and my parents went to Walt Disney World earlier this month.

We had a fabulous time. My two favorite parks were the new ones — well, new since I last went, just after Epcot opened. Here we are in front of the Muppet fountain in the Disney Hollywood Studios park.

We were lucky enough to win Dream Fastpasses for that park, which got us into all the hottest rides, like Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith Rock’n'Roller Coaster (my favorite ride of all), without having to wait. But it was visiting Animal Kingdom that was most memorable. KC enjoyed seeing the Junior Woodchucks.

While I was thrilled to meet Stitch, my favorite character.

I even got to hug him.

I think I like him because he’s a superpowered alien toddler. He provides the rogue-ish “anything can happen” magic that Bugs Bunny gives Warner. Disney hasn’t had that before. I hadn’t realized he was so popular, though. Here I am in front of the Wall of Stitch in the gift shop next to his ride, Stitch’s Great Escape (disappointing, even though there’s a life-size animatronic of him). I almost brought home the big stuffed one I’m holding, but we didn’t have room to give him his own seat in the car.

The coolest thing about the Wall Of Stitch is the little block of Angel almost but not hidden on the almost but not bottom level.
But where is the Wall of Sandwich Guy?

Who’s Sandwich Guy? And congratulations on knowing who Angel was. I didn’t.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen KC happier.

I’d guess “Sandwich Guy” is Experiment 625, who had all of Stitch’s powers but no interest in using them and, instead, was more interested in making sandwiches. He was introduced (like Angel) after the initial film.

oh, I think he was the guy I saw in the Christmas episode of the TV show making “holiday hoagies”. I thought it was odd they never id’ed him. Thanks!

Beau, that is the most touching thing I’ve heard today.

“Sandwich Guy”‘s official name is… wait for it… Reuben.
