Read Kyle Baker’s I Die at Midnight Free

The talented Kyle Baker has posted his I Die at Midnight online. It was drawn on computer in 2000, so in addition to being a fast-paced comedy thriller, it’s also something of a time capsule.

It’s done in his storyboard style, with snippets of dialogue printed under or next to the pictures, with no word balloons. On New Year’s Eve, 1999, Larry takes an overdose of pills because his girlfriend has left him, only to have her return and him regret his actions. A friendly doctor tells him he has until midnight to get the drugs out of his system. The result is a chase across rooftops that involves jumping out of skyscraper windows.
